For hitters who already like direct contact feedback and prefer some barrel mass through the zone, the Gold is a specific alternative to the two-piece Tantrum models. The appearance is striking, but construction and swing weighting are what should decide the purchase.

G4S G4orce Barrel and HDK23 Carbon

Easton's G4S G4orce barrel technology uses a triple-region flex concept that changes how the barrel responds in different zones. The composite construction features HDK23 carbon fiber, an important detail when comparing generations of Tantrum bats. A responsive barrel is valuable only if the hitter repeatedly puts the right area of the bat on the ball, and the Gold's 12.75-inch hitting surface requires the same discipline as any shorter-barrel setup.

One-Piece Feel with a Flex 150 Handle

The Gold is a one-piece bat, with a Flex 150 handle and Power Boost Soft Knob. Unlike a two-piece bat with an isolated connector, this frame provides a more immediate connection between barrel impact and the hands. Some slowpitch players like that firm feedback because it makes contact location easier to sense. Others find a two-piece bat more comfortable. Neither preference is inherently right for every hitter.

What Does Half-Ounce Loaded Mean?

The Gold's loaded weighting places additional emphasis toward the hitting end without changing its printed overall weight. In the 25-, 26- and 27-ounce options, that can make the barrel feel more assertive than a balanced bat of equal nominal weight. A hitter who can consistently control the load may enjoy the resulting swing character; someone losing timing on inside pitches should consider less load or weight.

Explore other 240 NTS slowpitch bats or compare alternate constructions in our slowpitch softball collection.
