The 2026 Mizuno Crush Andy Purcell signature slowpitch bat (340722) combines a 13-inch composite barrel with a half-ounce end-loaded profile. Compared with a short-barrel bat, that 13-inch hitting surface gives a hitter more physical barrel length to work with across different pitch locations. Its added barrel emphasis is intended for a player who can already get the head of the bat out front consistently, rather than someone still fighting to maintain swing speed.
Black Onyx Carbon and Triple-Wall Construction
Mizuno uses Black Onyx Carbon and a triple-wall composite barrel to shape how the Crush responds to contact. Cylinder Seaming is designed to keep the barrel construction consistent around its circumference. Those details help explain the model's sound and responsive feel, but a hitter still has to square up the pitch: neither a composite layup nor a longer barrel guarantees a specific distance.
What the Dual Frequency Damper Adds
The Dual Frequency Damper uses a combination of materials in the two-piece connection to manage vibration and limit unwanted flex. A Speed-Helix grip helps maintain a comfortable, secure hold. Players accustomed to a rigid one-piece bat may find the Crush's separated feedback more comfortable on mishits. Conversely, a hitter who wants the most immediate hand-to-barrel sensation may prefer a one-piece design.
Choose the Load You Can Control
All models are 34 inches long; available nominal weights include 25, 26 and 27 ounces. The half-ounce end load refers to how weight is distributed toward the barrel, not an additional amount beyond the stated weight. If a player can still turn on inside pitches after several games, a more pronounced barrel feel may suit them. Otherwise, a lighter or more balanced option may produce better contact.
