Description
2026 Short Porch Scared -3 BBCOR: One-Piece SC21 Advanced Alloy
The 2026 Short Porch Scared BBCOR is a limited-edition one-piece alloy baseball bat built around an SC21 Advanced Alloy barrel and a comparatively quick swing feel. Its design is intended for hitters who want direct feedback and a manageable bat path rather than an intentionally heavy barrel end. The graphics set it apart visually, but barrel control is the more important reason to choose it.
SC21 Alloy Barrel and Connected Feel
A continuous alloy frame transmits contact differently from a two-piece bat with a separate handle connector. Centered contact should feel direct, while mishits may deliver more noticeable feedback. The 2⅝-inch barrel uses the same metal construction through its hitting surface, not a composite wall requiring composite-specific break-in procedures.
Why Swing Weight Matters
The Scared is aimed at hitters who need to keep the barrel moving against inside velocity and adjust when pitches change speed. A faster-feeling swing does not guarantee extra exit speed; the actual benefit comes when the player can square more pitches without sacrificing balance. It is worth comparing against a more end-loaded BBCOR if the hitter wants greater barrel presence.
Currently Available Sizes
Stocked options at this review are 32/29, 33/30 and 34/31. Every size carries the nominal -3 drop, but a longer bat still increases swing demands. Try the exact size at game pace to ensure the hands can stay inside the ball and the barrel arrives on time.
