2027 DeMarini Vizion Fastpitch Softball Bat: -10, -9, -8

2027 DeMarini Vizion Fastpitch Bat: One-Piece Composite in -10, -9 and -8

The 2027 DeMarini Vizion combines an end-to-end one-piece composite frame with a distinctive gapped-wall barrel. It is offered here in -10, -9 and -8 weight drops. Those choices matter as much as the technology: a hitter who can control a -10 may find the extra mass of a -8 slows the barrel against inside pitches.

Vertebrae Construction and Dark Matter Barrel

DeMarini's Vertebrae composite structure extends from the handle into the barrel, producing the direct contact sensation associated with a one-piece bat. The Dark Matter Composite Gapped Wall design uses a separation between an inner Vertebrae wall and outer barrel wall to tune response across the hitting area. This combines two characteristics that can otherwise seem contradictory: a connected one-piece feel at the hands and a gapped, multi-wall barrel at impact.

DeMarini designed the Vizion for a pronounced sound when the ball is squared up, but sound is not a reliable substitute for testing swing fit. Players should evaluate how consistently they find the barrel, rather than expecting the loudest bat to deliver the greatest distance.

Comfort and Lower-Hand Control

The Damplify knob is intended to soften some of the vibration delivered through the continuous composite frame. A removable integrated handle taper lets hitters alter the contour underneath their bottom hand. Those details are particularly worth considering on a one-piece design, where contact feedback can feel different from a bat with a separate handle-to-barrel connection.

Choosing an Available Size

At this review, stocked choices include 32–34-inch -10 sizes, 32–34-inch -9 sizes and 33–34-inch -8 sizes. A -10 is generally the less demanding of the three drops at a given length, while the -8 requires more strength and consistently quick hands. Choose the actual length/weight combination that maintains control of inside velocity, not simply the longest available barrel.
