Bat Shaving Levels Explained

Description

Suncoast's 2026 Ruckus Resurgence SRRUB12 combines the family's compact 12-inch barrel with balanced weighting. This is the model for slowpitch hitters who place a premium on control and a repeatable swing path, without the intentional barrel-heavy loading of the Power Load and Super Load designs. For hitters exploring 240 NTS slowpitch bats, its balanced swing profile is the central difference to consider.

Like the rest of the composite Resurgence platform, the SRRUB12 uses UFC barrel technology and OPTI-DURA materials. A narrow Max Speed Handle and Stick & Spin tackified surface round out the design. Its two-piece construction changes the overall feel compared with a rigid one-piece bat.

The distinction between a balanced bat and a loaded bat is how weight is distributed—not simply whether the label shows 25 or 28 ounces. A balanced 28-ounce bat can still be heavy in the hands; selecting a comfortable total weight matters just as much as selecting a balanced profile.

Composite barrel stiffness may change during normal use. Our 5 Things You Need to Know About Bat Rolling article explains how break-in is discussed and why measurable compression changes should never be mistaken for a guaranteed distance gain or league approval for modifications.

SRRUB12 Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SRRUB12 have an end load?

No. It is the balanced version, designed without the deliberate half-ounce or full-ounce end loading of other Resurgence configurations.

Is balanced always better for contact hitters?

It can make barrel control feel easier for some players, but physical weight, grip, swing mechanics and timing remain personal.

What type of swing fits the 12-inch barrel?

Players who enjoy a compact hitting surface and want to adjust the barrel through different pitch locations may prefer this profile.
