Description
The Suncoast Melee3 OG 13-inch End Loaded takes the same basic one-piece platform as the balanced Melee3 OG and shifts the swing feel toward the barrel. That makes it a better fit for hitters who want more mass moving through contact and who are comfortable controlling a heavier finish. The 13-inch barrel still gives the hitter plenty of coverage, so this is not a tiny sweet-spot, short-barrel power bat.
What the End Load Adds
The end load changes how the bat carries through the hitting zone. Instead of the weight feeling evenly distributed from the hands through the barrel, more of the swing presence sits toward the hitting end. Strong hitters often like that because once the barrel is moving, it feels like it continues through the ball with less effort from the hands.
The tradeoff is timing. A hitter who is late with a balanced bat is not going to become quicker by adding end load. This model is better for players who already have enough bat speed and want more barrel presence, not for players trying to make the bat feel lighter.
One-Piece Feedback
The one-piece construction gives the Melee3 OG a direct connection between the hands and barrel. Combined with the end load, that creates a very honest swing: you feel where the barrel is, and you feel contact immediately. If you want more isolation and a softer handle response, a two-piece Suncoast may suit you better.

Composite Break-In
The composite barrel can become more responsive as it breaks in. The composite bat rolling service is available if you want that break-in handled before the bat arrives.
For more detail on how that process compares with normal use, read 5 Things You Need to Know About Bat Rolling. Additional modification options are described on our professional bat shaving service page.
Modification Notice
Bat modification may affect eligibility for organized play. Modified bats are not represented as approved or compliant for sanctioned competition. No manufacturer warranty claim is made for a modified bat.
